Frequently Asked Questions
Do you check blank shirts for accuracy? If there is a problem, what do you do?
Yes. Once garments are in-house, we will look the items over. If there is an issue, we will contact you.
Is the Screen Machine name on the shipping documents or is it blind label?
Shipments that leave our shop have a blind label.
Will I see a shipping confirmation?
Yes, you will receive an email from UPS Quantum View.
When should I see an art approval?
We send JPG art approvals. In most cases you will receive a proof within a couple of days of Screen Machine receiving your artwork.
Can you print moisture wicking material?
Yes. Please note, pricing may differ if the material contains spandex.
Does the weight of a 100% cotton shirt (5.3 oz versus 6.1 oz) affect the end results of a 4-color process job?
5.1 oz will print okay, but 6.1 oz has a better end result. 6.1 oz fabric is weaved tighter, resulting in enhanced ink coverage. Weight is not always the issue. 4.5 oz 30 single cotton actually has a tighter weave than 6.1 oz. If the garment is dark, it is less of a factor. This does not affect simple spot color jobs.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check, and credit card. Prices reflect a 3% cash discount.
What is vectored art?
Vectors are created in lines and in a mathematical way so that the picture can be enlarged or made smaller without losing any quality.
Do you offer Pantone (PMS) color matching?
We use a licensed Pantone ink mixing system to simulate PMS colors. Ink mixing and color matching is done in house.
What type of shirt is necessary to print discharge ink?
Discharge is made for 100% cotton fabrics. This has to do with the ink dyeing the garment. Each shirt may be slightly different, because of how it is dyed. It works best on a dark shirt.
What type of shirt is required for water-based printing?
Water-based printing does not print as well on a dark colored shirt.
What is your turnaround time?
Our standard turnaround time is 10 working days from the day your artwork is approved and your product is received.
